An exciting APPy weekend!

There are some great things happening in "app-land" this weekend. There will be discussions about apps. There will be app "sales". There will be app "giveaways". There will be a chance to learn about app developers and the reviewers that keep them on there toes. There will be a chance learn about a great community of people who are working together towards a common goal.

The first event is a regular Friday event with a twist. Moms With Apps, who offer app specials every Friday, will be doing a "virtual conference" of sorts via facebook. I think is a great way for parents and educators to have a voice in what they like in an app, what they do not like, and what apps they would like to see in the future. As a teacher, I know that I would have an opinion in each of those areas. For more information, check out Teaching All Students blog for a vlog from one of founders of Moms With Apps. I enjoyed the video because it was great to put a name with the face of the person who sends out the weekly emails!

Another event taking place with weekend will be the 3rd APP Party sponsored by A4CWSN.

This APP Party will consist of code giveaways, names of iPad recipients from the 50 iPads campaign, and iPad case giveaways. App sales will also be offered by several developers. (I have listed a few at the end of this post.) Some developers are donating a portion of their app sales back to the A4CWSN iPad campaign. If you have not done so already, you will need to stop by and join the group or groups! A4CWSN facebook group , A4CWSN - Australia facebook page ,  A4CWSN - Canada facebook page Best of all is that you can join in with other parents, teachers, care givers of individuals with special needs and become a part of the supportive community that it has developed into over the past couple months.

I hope to be stopping in to say "hi" at both places if my schedule permits. If you stop by, please say Hi from Melanie and Good Luck on the giveaways.

Here are just a few of the developers or companies supporting the A4CWSN App Party:
Mobile Education Store - excellent apps to develop language and vocabulary
Loud Crow Interactive, Inc. - awesome interactive books, books by Sandra Boynton

Busy Bee Preschool - developers of the great preschool app Zoo Train
